San Diego is the jewel on the California map. Year ‘round mild temperatures, clean air, and delightful locations attract visitors. San Diego offers adventure, culture, entertainment, sports, and enrichment opportunities to suit families with all sorts of interests.
Kids love visiting Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, boasting 4,000 animals, Legoland, and the Wild Animal Park. San Diego has 70 miles of beautiful beaches for a splash in the ocean, whale watching, surfing, and scuba diving. There are several scuba and snorkeling schools to appeal to any age and skill level. Throughout the area families find great camping sites.
Pick a season and join the fans at a Charger's football game or visit the PETCO Park home to the Padres' baseball team. If you would rather play than watch, visit one of 90 golf courses, or hike the multitude of trails like the Mission Trails Regional Park. Bikers will find casual paths along the beach trails, through town, or rugged mountain trails. For a more relaxing experience, take a harbor cruise, charter a bareboat sailboat, or go all out and sail on the USA 11 interactive sail adventure.
Shopping is an experience in San Diego. Take for example the 7 city block shopping extravaganza, Horton Plaza, or you can stroll through the Historic Gas lamp Quarter, wander through Seaport Village downtown --54 shops and 17 places to eat and street entertainment daily. Tired of walking? Take the for hire double-decker bus tour. Want something more exciting? Schedule a biplane or balloon ride. Don’t forget theaters, galleries, and the missions. There is no end to things to do in San Diego.
Need more convincing? The San Diego area includes the Del Mar race track, the Carlsbad Flower Fields, the Botanical Gardens, and Palomar Observatory. There are several casinos in the area as well. Find 30 of the finest museums; for example the USS Midway Air Craft Carrier Museum and the Maritime Museum. Not to be missed is the Hotel Del Coronado. Built in 1920, the “Del” recalls a bygone era and is a destination spot for travelers worldwide. San Diego welcomes families and their pets. Yes, there are many dog friendly hotels, restaurants and cafes, beaches, parks, and even a doggy bakery.
